‘First three points of the season’ – Michael Owen predicts winner in WBA clash v Sheff Utd

Michael Owen has predicted that Sheffield United will beat West Brom at the Hawthorns on Saturday evening.

The pundit claimed that the Baggies haven’t looked comfortable so far in the Premier League, and backed their troubles to continue over the weekend.

Both West Brom and the Blades are looking for their first wins of the season in this one, and it could be a relegation six-pointer, even this early in the campaign.

Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column, Owen didn’t believe that the Baggies have enough fire-power to take all three points.

“This could be Sheffield United’s chance to finally get started this season,” he said.

“I think they’ve been unlucky at times so far and reckon that their strength in depth should be enough to get them over the line here.

“I covered West Brom’s match against Fulham and the Baggies didn’t look comfortable at all. So, I’ll be going for a Sheffield United win, and their first 3 points of the season.”

West Brom

Is it too early to call this a must-win game?

Three points would be the perfect confidence boost ahead of the busy December and January calendar in the Premier League.

A win would also see the Baggies create a significant gap between them and the Blades, and also see them jump out of the relegation zone.

To say that West Brom look uncomfortable when Sheffield United have only scored four goals this season seems to be an unsubstantiated claim.

It’s time for the Baggies to produce the goods, and they must prove Owen wrong on Saturday evening.
