‘Placing all my chips’ – Sky Sports pundit predicts result of WBA clash v Sheffield United

Lewis Jones has predicted that West Brom will extend their wait for a Premier League win past this weekend’s clash with Sheffield United.

The Sky Sports pundit has predicted that the six-pointer will finish 1-1 at the Hawthorns, with both sides cancelling each other out.

Slaven Bilic and Chris Wilder are currently on the two-longest winless runs in the country, and both will have targeted this game for three points.

Writing in his predictions blogs, Jones claims that Wilder will easily guide his side higher than the Baggies in the Premier League.

“If you are asking me who do I think will finish higher this season: West Brom or Sheffield United, then I would be placing all my chips down on Chris Wilder’s men,” he wrote.

“This could be the turning point. But, since promotion, the Blades have played 14 games without their first-choice defence and won just one of those fixtures.

“These sides are on the two longest winless runs in England’s top four divisions – 12 for Sheff Utd, 13 for West Brom. That winless run for both may continue.”

Bilic is determined to turn the fortunes of the Baggies around.

The effort has been there all season, and with a little bit more luck, that win could have come against either Spurs or Manchester United.

Sheffield United have been hopeless so far, and have only scored four goals this season, with their attack a real problem.

Three points would take the Albion out of the relegation zone, and most would consider that to be job done so far, with survival the only thing that is important.

A point usually wouldn’t be as bad, but given the fact we are still searching for that first win, three points on Saturday would be the perfect boost moving into the busy Christmas period.
