‘There is a problem’ – Trevor Sinclair makes claim about West Brom owners and Bilic
talkSPORT pundit Trevor Sinclair has said that there is a “problem” at West Brom between the board and Slaven Bilic.
He said that the Baggies could still pull things back in the Premier League but would need to stop the run of bad results soon.
Sinclair traced the problems between Bilic and the West Brom owners to the sale of Ahmed Hegazi against the wishes of the manager.
Talking on the Breakfast show (talkSPORT, Friday, 9.30am) Sinclair said, “I think, when you talk about West Brom, like Bilic said they’ve got good team spirit.
“And they’re not getting hammered in games. They’re only losing by the odd goal.
“They can still pull it back but if it carries on it’s going to get harder for them.
“I think there is a problem between the board and Bilic, over the sale of Hegazi, who he didn’t want to let go.
“They’ve got a problem there.”
There are plenty of West Brom fans who would love to see Guochuan Lai sell up and leave the club and there’s been lots of takeover talk recently.
Things haven’t worked out with Lai at all. Despite unlocking the riches of the Premier League, Bilic was given no funds to strengthen the team over the summer.
Not only that but Hegazi’s sale against the wishes of Bilic drove a stake in between manager and club, and we don’t think that will ever properly heal.
Lai doesn’t communicate with the outside world so you never know what’s going on but he might well have to drop his price to sell West Brom.
Back on the pitch, a win against Sheffield United is a must. Three points will give Weest Brom a big boost, could get us out of the bottom three and lay a path for the season to be salvaged.
The Blades have been as bad this season as they have been good in others and they’ve only scored four goals in the league.
A clean sheet and a few goals would make things seem a lot rosier at The Hawthorns.
