‘Top-class’ – Sky pundit backs West Brom figure for success despite concerning reports
Marlon Harewood has backed Slaven Bilic to guide West Brom back to the Premier League should they be relegated this season.
The Sky Sports pundit labelled the Croatian as “world-class” and that he is the perfect man for the job, despite other concerns.
Steve Madeley claimed on Thursday that the chances of Bilic being at the Hawthorns next season don’t seem great at this current moment.
Speaking to Football FanCast, Harewood claimed that there is only one man that the Baggies need should they be relegated.
“If they go down, then he will be the man to bring them back again,” he said.
“It’s so easy to always go on to the manager. Sometimes it is that situation, but he’s a top-class manager, top-class guy, the lads love him there, so hopefully, he can turn things around.”
Harewood definitely has a point, and Bilic has been key to all of the success in recent years – including promotion back to the Premier League.
Bilic has been through it all in recent months.
The relationship with Guochuan Lai is certainly not the best, and that hasn’t been helped by some decisions made by the owner.
Starting with the lack of funds over the summer and then moving onto the forced sale of Ahmed Hegazi, nothing has been going right.
Relegation isn’t on the minds of anyone, and Bilic is certainly coming out fighting in the face of adversity and it seems to have worked.
The Baggies should have taken points from Spurs and Manchester United, and three points against Sheffield United this weekend would be perfect.
