‘Won’t be pretty’ – Dimitar Berbatov predicts narrow winner in WBA clash v Sheffield Utd
Dimitar Berbatov has backed West Brom to pick up their first Premier League win of the season against Sheffield United.
The pundit has predicted that the Baggies will pick up a narrow 1-0 win at the Hawthorns in this crucial early-season clash.
Both sides are yet to win this season, but it is the Blades who are sitting rock-bottom of the pile going into this one later tonight.
Speaking in his Metro predictions column, Berbatov claims that it “won’t be pretty” but the Albion should have enough to scrape the points.
“Two teams without a win,” he wrote. “This won’t be pretty but there’s a lot at stake when the bottom two meet at the Hawthorns. Both struggle to score goals. I’m going with a narrow home win.”
Finally, someone is backing the Baggies.
After an upturn in form, West Brom should have earned more against both Spurs and Manchester United and hopefully, the Baggies get their rewards tonight.
Bilic was visibly happy in his press conference this week, and he will be targeting this next run of fixtures to pick up valuable points this season.
After the Blades, there are games against Crystal Palace and Newcastle. Having said that, all focus must be on tonight’s clash.
The Baggies will want more goals, but a clean-sheet in a 1-0 win? They would snap your hand off for that if it was offered right now.
Albion have deserved more from their tough challenges, and tonight they must prove their worth in a game against a so-called relegation rival.
