‘In broad daylight…’ – Reliable journalist shares update on WBA mystery of Tony Brown statue

West Brom made headlines last week, as they mysteriously removed the famous statue of Tony ‘Bomber’ Brown at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies shared an update on their Twitter account after, claiming that they had simply sent off the statue for maintenance.

It appears to be deeper than that though, as reliable journalist Chris Lepkowski reported that the figure had actually fallen.

Speaking on the Liquidator podcast, Lepkowski shared the update, claiming that it wasn’t sabotaged by any outside figure.

“In broad daylight, the statue fell forward,” he said.

“What I mean by that is, it fell towards the East Stand rather than backwards towards the car park. I understand there were no people surrounding it at the time, so it wasn’t sabotaged, it wasn’t being removed by anyone for maintenance and it wasn’t an attack.

“It just simply, apparently fell.”

Why not just say that?

West Brom were ridiculously vague with their reasoning behind removing the statue when it could have been cleared very easily.

The Baggies board are nowhere near on the level of the fans, and they rarely have been since the reign of Guochuan Lai, and this was another mistake.

As Lepkowski goes on the mention, the Albion only tweeted after Adrian Goldberg had emailed the club demanding an answer – not good enough.

The sooner that Bomber Brown is back in place, the better and we can’t wait to be back at the Hawthorns with him there too in the near future.
