‘Typical’, ‘It’s sad’ – Many West Brom fans unhappy after official club update

Many West Brom fans are cursing their luck after drawing Blackpool in the third round of the FA Cup with some annoyed that they won’t be able to go to the game.

The Baggies will take on the Seasiders at Bloomfield Road in January in what seems to be a relatively easy draw for Albion.

Blackpool currently sit 15th in League One with the club losing seven of their 13 league games this season.

However, the Seasiders have scored seven goals and conceded none so far in the FA Cup this season with a 3-0 win over Eastbourne and a 4-0 win over Harrogate Town.

They will face a different challenge in January though when they welcome a Premier League side to Bloomfield Road.

Albion produced a strong showing in the competition last season as Slaven Bilic’s men fought bravely to reach the round of 16 before being knocked out by a full-strength Newcastle United.

With the Premier League the priority for the club at the moment, a tie against a League One club should give Bilic a good opportunity to rotate his squad and give his regular first-team players a well-earned rest after what could prove to be a hectic December.

Many Baggies fans rued their luck as they were given a favourable draw with some fans commenting on how good an away trip to Blackpool would’ve been in a pre-COVID world.

Here is how some West Brom fans reacted to the draw.

Albion have plenty of league games to worry about before they play Blackpool but it would’ve been nice for Baggies fans to enjoy a trip to Bloomfield Road to support their side in the FA Cup.

In other West Brom news, one Baggies ace made a return for the club’s youth side on Monday.
