‘League-leading’ – FPL scout explains how West Brom 24y/o could dominate v Palace
The Premier League Fantasy Football scout has tipped West Brom attacker Matheus Pereira to produce another excellent performance this weekend.
Pereira was electric in the Baggies’ last game against Sheffield United as he created nine chances, more than any other player has produced in a Premier League game this season.
Now, ‘The Scout’ has tipped the Brazilian to perform again on Sunday when Albion welcome Crystal Palace to The Hawthorns.
While picking their ‘Kings to watch‘ this weekend, The Scout said, “The Brazilian’s growing influence on West Bromwich Albion’s attack can prove decisive at home against Crystal Palace.
“Pereira has created 11 chances in the last two Gameweeks, at least seven more than any team-mate. Indeed, that is a league-leading total during that period, two more than the nine of his nearest rival Riyad Mahrez of Manchester City.
“Pereira’s delivery from dead-ball situations can be a major weapon for the Baggies this weekend. He has taken 30 of his side’s 40 corners this season. Palace, meanwhile, appear to have a weakness in such situations.”
The Baggies will have to produce better corners if they are to trouble the Palace defence as they were caught offside twice while taking short corners against Sheffield United.
But as we have seen this season Pereira is lethal from dead-ball situations as he scored an absolute peach of a freekick at Goodison Park.
Pereira has improved greatly in the last few games after looking slightly off the pace in some of this season’s early games.
The 24-year-old has one goal and two assists in the Premier League which means he has contributed to just under half of Albion’s league goals this season.
The Brazilian can be unplayable on his day and his performances could prove to be the difference this season as his side look to stay in the Premier League.
Another impressive performance this weekend could signal that Pereira is truly back to his best which would come as a huge boost to many Baggies fans.
