‘Look at Jamie Vardy’ – Some West Brom fans excited by ‘Prolific’ striker transfer news
West Brom are reportedly among the teams being linked with a move to sign Crawley Town striker Max Watters after his impressive form this season.
According to the Daily Mail, the Baggies and Championship high-flyers Watford have both expressed an interest in the striker who has scored 12 goals in 14 games.
The League Two striker is the latest player to rise through non-league football, having previously spent time Ashford United, as well as loan spells at Grantham Town, Mickleover Sports and Maidstone United.
According to the report, Crawley could demand around £1million for the in-form striker, with interest continuing to rise.
It comes as no surprise to see the Baggies looking to add goals to their squad ahead of the January window, Slaven Bilic’s squad rank among the lowest goalscorers in the Premier League (8) – only Burnley and Sheffield United have netted fewer goals.
Should he make the move to the Hawthorns, Watters would follow the likes of Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings and Callum Wilson in rising through the English football pyramid and reaching the pinnacle that is the Premier League.
These West Brom fans have been reacting to the reports on social media and here are some of the best tweets about a potential move for Watters.
