Many West Brom fans say the same thing about Slaven Bilic after defeat v Newcastle
West Brom fans are calling on the club to sack manager Slaven Bilic after the 2-1 defeat away to Newcastle United on Saturday.
Earlier this week, The Mirror reported that Bilic was facing a fight for his job at The Hawthorns after the horrific capitulation against Crystal Palace.
Newcastle did not play last week due to a COVID-19 outbreak at their training ground so although Steve Bruce’s men had an extra week to prepare for the Baggies game, they were also without a number of first-team players for the game.
After 20 seconds, West Brom’s shoddy defensive work was exposed when Branislav Ivanovic’s howler led to Miguel Almiron scoring.
Bilic rolled the dice at half-time by hooking Callum Robinson and Karlan Grant – the striker he chased for months after winning promotion – to replace them with Charlie Austin and Kieran Gibbs. Neither of them had played since September.
Darnell Furlong got West Brom level by getting on the end of a Matt Phillips cross but Dwight Gayle (of course it was him) managed to head home a late winner for Newcastle to pile the pressure on his former club’s manager.
Bilic was facing pressure from the board and now there are huge calls from fans for the Croatian manager to be axed.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Bilic failed to keep his players’ chins up after Matheus Pereira’s red card against Crystal Palace. Most of the players he pushed to sign in the last transfer window have failed to shine. He failed to lead the Baggies to victory against a side depleted by the coronavirus even though they were there for the taking at times.
Bilic will be very, very lucky to survive this.
In other West Brom news, a FIFA intermediary has warned Albion of transfer “turmoil” due to Brexit.
