‘Start him’, ‘Nothing to lose’ – Many WBA fans want U23s ace in Baggies squad v Man City

West Brom under-23s went crashing to defeat in the Premier League 2 clash against Wolves on Monday afternoon.

The Baggies went ahead twice in the local derby, with Cheikh Diaby and Kyle Edwards finding the back of the net.

Somehow, the young Albion side collapsed in the second half and ended up conceding a handful of goals to lose 4-2.

The clear highlight of the clash was once again Diaby.

Deon Burton is getting the best out of the powerful forward, and he once again smashed home a great effort against Wolves.

It was in a losing effort, but it appears that the under-23s are having similar problems defensively just as the first-team are too.

Slaven Bilic’s side are also struggling offensively though, with Charlie Austin, Karlan Grant and Callum Robinson all finding it hard to find the back of the net.

With options limited, Diaby could soon find himself with a first-team chance at the Hawthorns should his cracking form continue.

Academy Chief Richards Stevens has shared that the French youngster could go out on loan after Christmas, but some fans appear to believe that bringing him into the first-team could be the better action.

Many West Brom fans have reacted to the display of Diaby and they were delighted with the impact he is having in the final third.

Some have suggested that Bilic and the Baggies have nothing to lose by handing him a chance against Manchester City, with the current batch of forwards not delivering the goods.
