‘These are the types of games’ – Michael Owen predicts result in West Brom clash v Man City
Michael Owen believes that Man City are going to give West Brom a paddling in the game at the Etihad tonight.
Man City are currently under-performing in ninth place but West Brom are one off the bottom after a terrible start to the season.
Writing in his regular BetVictor predictions column, Owen thinks the score will end up 4-0 to Man City.
“Life doesn’t get any easier for West Brom as they travel to the Etihad to take on Manchester City,” Owen wrote.
“The Baggies suffered another defeat when Newcastle left it late to take the points at the weekend.
“These are the type of games where City are known to pile it on. A 5-1 win at home to Burnley followed by a 2-0 win against Fulham come as stark reminders of how difficult this could be for West Brom.
“The visitors have lost 5 of their last 6 away matches, and I can’t see anything other than a comfortable home win here.”
Long night ahead
Tonight might be a tough night for West Brom fans.
There’s no real expectation of getting anything from the game but at the back of your mind you know that any team in the Premier League can beat any other on their day.
We still remember the bizarre 7-2 thrashing dealt to Liverpool by Aston Villa earlier this season.
However, the game tonight has got the biggest odds of any Premier League game we’ve seen for a long, long time.
West Brom are as long as 30/1 to spring a shock at the Etihad tonight. That means if the game was played out 31 times, the bookies think we would only win it once.
That’s a fairly damning indictment of the Baggies side at the moment but hope springs eternal.
We’ll go into the game with an open mind and hope that Bilic can prove the bookies wrong.
