‘Chopping onions’ – Many West Brom fans react to Slaven Bilic statement on Twitter

Slaven Bilic has broken his silence after leaving West Brom earlier this week, with a classy statement thanking the club’s supporters.

As reported by Joseph Masi of the Express and Star, Bilic released a statement where he thanked supporters for their passion and belief during his time at the club.

He also bemoaned his inability to thank them personally this season, having seen games played behind closed doors for so long.

This past week has been a whirlwind of emotion for supporters, who have seen their club take what could be a crucial point from Manchester City at the Etihad.

An unlikely goal from Semi Ajayi in the first half drew the Baggies level and they remained resolute from there on in.

Then, only hours after the result was confirmed, it was first reported that Bilic was set to leave the club.

Ex-England boss Sam Allardyce was soon appointed in Bilic’s place and attention now turns to Premier League safety, with Albion two points from safety.

Allardyce has been out of work since leaving Everton and now has to hit the ground running at the Hawthorns.

The Baggies have a local derby against Aston Villa coming up on Sunday before they travel to Anfield to face the Premier League champions.

The games do not get any easier for Allardyce, who will then face Leeds United and Arsenal over the new year period.

These supporters have been reacting to Bilic’s statement on social media and here are some of the best, with emotions still running high for some.
