Klopp details ‘Proper challenge’ Liverpool face when they play West Brom next weekend

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has claimed that his side’s game against West Brom next weekend will be a ‘proper challenge’.

The Reds demolished Crystal Palace on Saturday as Klopp’s side ran out 7-0 winners at Selhurst Park.

The Premier League champions welcome West Brom to Anfield next weekend and Klopp has claimed that he has to be ‘smart’ ahead of the game.

Birmingham Live quote Klopp as saying, “We are just happy we won the game [v Palace] and now we have more time to recover than we ever had before in this season.

“We have to use that in a smart way and then West Brom is waiting with Sam Allardyce and the next proper challenge is there.”

The Baggies have the small matter of a Midlands derby before they travel to Anfield but the game is sure to be in the back of Sam Allardyce’s mind.

Klopp has complained about his side not having enough rest this season as they battle to retain their league title and win back their Champions League crown.

The Reds will have a full week of rest before they take on the Baggies meaning that Klopp could deploy a very strong side at Anfield.

The German boss will be aware that Albion ground out an impressive draw at the Etihad last week and he will want to make sure that Allardyce’s side don’t repeat their surprise result when they travel to Merseyside.

Allardyce will hopefully have his side well drilled before the trip to Anfield with the manager known for his side’s defensive capabilities.

Baggies fans may be dreading next weekend’s game after Liverpool’s convincing win over the Eagles but in this unpredictable season, anything can happen.

In other West Brom news: Dimitar Berbatov has given his verdict on the appointment of Allardyce and predicted the result of Sunday’s game.
