‘No one boings like Big Sam’ – Sky Sports pundit makes bold West Brom prediction v Aston Villa

Sky Sports’ Lewis Jones says Sam Allardyce could be ‘the perfect man’ to guide West Brom out of trouble this season.

Writing in his weekly predictions, Jones is backing Allardyce to achieve big things at Albion this season and hit the ground running with a 1-0 win over Villa.

On Sunday’s derby meeting with Aston Villa, Jones said: “When you need a bounce factor, no-one boings like Big Sam. He might just be the perfect man for the Baggies.”

Later in his predictions, he went on to say: “Despite just having three days to get the Baggies players organised, I’m confident he’ll make them hard to beat.”

Allardyce has only had a few days with the squad ahead of Sunday’s derby, so how much change we can expect to see against Aston Villa remains to be seen.

The former England boss was only unveiled to the media on Thursday, while the club also posted a handful of images showing Allardyce briefly at the training ground with the players.

New manager bounce

Allardyce has only just walked through the door at West Brom, but the game against Villa is a huge opportunity to start as he means to go on.

He comes up against Villa side who have won twice in their last five league games and come into the match following a disappointing draw at home to Burnley.

On the other hand, West Brom – despite the Bilic sacking – head into the game having taken a very impressive point away to Manchester City.

As per Wyscout, the Baggies made an incredible 65 interceptions and 35 clearances against Pep Guardiola’s side, in their best defensive performance of the season so far.

Allardyce also sent a message to his players during his first press conference at the Hawthorns, revealing that the squad will get a chance to impress before potential January recruits are considered.

With players eager to win a place in Allardyce’s plans, supporters can expect to see a reaction from the squad at the very least.
