‘So done’, ‘Liquidation’, ‘Shambles’ – Many West Brom fans react to U23s defeat v Stoke

West Brom Under-23s fell to yet another crushing defeat against Stoke City on Monday afternoon, losing 4-3.

Deon Burton can have no excuses, with the Baggies making a number of different senior players available for selection against the Potters.

David Button, Lee Peltier, Cedric Kipre, Sam Field, Rekeem Harper, Kyle Edwards and Kamil Grosicki all started the clash and conceded four in the first half.

This just tops off an awful weekend for all involved at the Hawthorns.

It has taken the Baggies months to start introducing senior players and looking at this, Burton will be reconsidering calling them up again.

Leeds did exactly the same on Monday, and they swept aside Fulham by seven goals to one at their Thorp Arch base, something we should have expected with this side.

Players such as Kipre, Edwards and Grosicki have been crying out for more chances in the Premier League, and they must be praying that Sam Allardyce wasn’t watching on Monday.

If Big Sam was watching, they will be waiting a long, long time before they get a chance if they can’t even impress and do the business against under-23 opposition.

Many West Brom fans have reacted to the result on Monday afternoon, claiming that it was a shamble and even embarrassing.

Some even claimed that both the under-23s and the senior side will get relegated, suggesting that the club may as well liquidate – maybe a step too far.
