West Brom reignite interest in 28-year-old forward, Sam Allardyce is ‘huge admirer’ – report

West Brom have reignited their interest in free-agent forward Ahmed Musa ahead of the January window, according to allnigeriasoccer.

The online outlet have claimed that Sam Allardyce is a “huge admirer” of the 28-year-old, who mutually terminated his contract with Al-Nassr in October.

The Albion are struggling in the final third with Karlan Grant, Callum Robinson and Charlie Austin all having poor starts to life back in the Premier League.

Musa is reportedly wanting to move back to the Premier League, despite having massive offers from elsewhere next month.

Clubs from China, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Turkey have all been throwing money at the Nigerian international, but that hasn’t changed his desire to return to England.

West Brom were close to signing Musa on loan at the start of the season when the striker had agreed personal terms at the Hawthorns.

That move collapsed at the final moments, but with his contract at Al-Nassr being terminated, there should be no such problems next month.

The clear problem is in the final third.

Grant and Robinson were both permanent additions in the summer, and have only scored three goals between them in their combined 17 starts.

Musa has only played international football since the middle of October, and that could have affected his match fitness before a potential switch to the Premier League.

The 28-year-old hasn’t been involved in a single goal since August either, meaning that he isn’t the obvious choice to help our struggles in front of goal.

Big Sam may be a huge admirer, but he has to be smart with his business next month.
