‘Fire them up’ – Journalist makes claim about West Brom January transfer plan.

West Brom will be targetting short-term deals during the January transfer window in a bid to survive in the Premier League.

That’s according to journalist Dean Jones, who suggests that the Baggies will not be afraid to throw money at a survival bid next month.

Speaking on Touchline Talk (21/12/20 – 4:56), Jones provided supporters with an insight into how the Baggies will approach the January window: “Mainly, knowing the way that West Brom work, we’ll be seeing short-term options that can just try and fire them up.

“Like they’ve got Allardyce in on this deal until the end of the season with a big incentive, they’ll do that with a couple of players.”

Sam Allardyce has already confirmed that the board are ready to spend when the window opens, with the new manager refusing to rule out the possibility of new arrivals at the Hawthorns.

The early reports about potential January transfer targets give a clear indicator of the approach that Big Sam will take at West Brom.

Already, we have seen the likes of James Tomkins and Andy Carroll linked with moves to the Baggies.

Both are experienced players with over 500 Premier League appearances combined under their belt.

Crucially, they have both played under Allardyce at West Ham and are familiar with how he operates.

Allardyce has always been a manager who traditionally favours experienced players and with the Baggies currently sitting five points behind Brighton in 17th, they are going to need all the help they can get.
