Ultimate ‘mic drop’ moment – Sky Sports pundit makes West Brom-Liverpool prediction

Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones predicts that Liverpool will come out on top against West Brom on Sunday.

The two sides meet at Anfield after Christmas day, with the Premier League champions looking to extend their 66-game unbeaten record at home.

Despite the two clubs sitting at opposite ends of the Premier League table, Jones does not believe we will see a complete mauling at Anfield, as some fans may expect: “Can you imagine the smile on Big Sam’s face if he was to become the man to break Liverpool’s 66 game unbeaten home run? It would be the ultimate ‘mic drop’ moment.”

Jones later went on to add: “Klopp’s boys, who will be fresher than they have been all season after an eight-day rest period between games, have scored more first-half goals than any other Premier League side this season (17), so are placed to go for West Brom’s throat in the early knockings of this one.”

Albion head into the game after losing 3-0 at home to Aston Villa in what was Sam Allardyce’s first game in charge of the Baggies.

A tough evening ahead of West Brom

There is no denying that it will be a tough evening for the Albion up against a very strong Liverpool side.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have not tasted defeat in the Premier League since their shock 7-2 loss away to Aston Villa, way back in early October.

Since then, the Reds have gone on an amazing run of form, losing just once in all competitions – a 2-0 home defeat to Atalanta in the Champions League.

Liverpool have won three of their last five in the Premier League, scoring 15 goals and conceding just three in that time.

West Brom will be seeking a defensive improvement from the performance against Aston Villa, who, as per Wyscout, had a worrying 20 shots during the 3-0 defeat.
