West Brom loanee with 5 starts in 20/21 to seek assurances from Big Sam in Jan – report

West Brom playmaker Filip Krovinovic is set to seek assurances about his role under Sam Allardyce in the next month.

It was no secret that it was Slaven Bilic who demanded the signing of the Croatian over the summer, and the Baggies board made that happen.

After struggles in negotiations with Benfica in the window, the Albion settled for another loan deal to bring Krovinovic back to the Hawthorns.

Birmingham Live journalist Joseph Chapman, Krovinovic is set to ask for answers on his future as he approaches the midway stage of his loan move.

“Filip Krovinovic, too, is expected to seek assurances about the role he plays in the new regime as he reaches the halfway point in his second loan spell with Benfica,” he wrote.

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

Big Sam has confirmed that he wants fresh faces through the door next month but appears to be concentrating more on his defence and attack.

Some faces may need to leave, and it would be no surprise to see the loan of Krovinovic cut short to free up more wages.

The Croatian has a real opportunity during this busy period.

Jake Livermore is set to start his three-match suspension against Liverpool, and will also be missing against Leeds and Arsenal ahead of the FA Cup clash with Blackpool.

Allardyce will need to make changes, and Krovinovic could be the one to step up and plug that hole during this important week of football.

The 25-year-old has only made five starts in the Premier League but wasn’t used at all against Aston Villa, which could show Big Sam’s thoughts.

With limited funds available, it would be no surprise to see Krovinovic leave, but he must use this next fortnight to prove himself to both Allardyce and the Baggies.
