‘In my opinion’ – Tim Sherwood makes West Brom relegation claim after 5-0 defeat v Leeds
Tim Sherwood has claimed that this current West Brom squad would get relegated from the Premier League without reinforcements.
The Amazon pundit admitted that Big Sam will be crying out for reinforcements at the Hawthorns next month, and that will be key to their survival.
After the 5-0 defeat against Leeds on Tuesday evening, the Baggies are sitting second-bottom and are five points adrift from safety.
Speaking on Amazon Prime and their live coverage of the game, Sherwood claimed that Allardyce can turn that around though.
“This current squad, in my opinion, gets relegated,” he said.
“I think that Sam wouldn’t have gone there unless the board have said to him ‘you’re going to get money to spend in January.’
“I’m sure he’s earmarked some players he wants to bring in to that football club that fit his remit, and if he gets the players that he wants, he’s got every chance to keep them up.”
It is hard to argue against this claim after that dreadful display.
Leeds came up with the Baggies last season, but it looked like men against boys at the Hawthorns, and looked more like a cup clash between two sides in different leagues.
Big Sam will be looking at his options, and be pulling his hair out.
The perfect example is Kieran Gibbs pulling out, and being replaced by Lee Peltier, who isn’t good enough for the Championship, never mind the Premier League.
Reinforcements are desperately needed, or we can wave goodbye to the top-flight right now.
