‘Please no’ – These rival fans react to transfer update on move for key West Brom star

Several Tottenham Hotspur supporters are not impressed after seeing their club linked with a move to sign West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

According to a report from The Sun, Jose Mourinho’s side could turn to the Baggies shot-stopper if Hugo Lloris joins up with Mauricio Pochettino at Paris Saint-Germain.

The latter is expected to land the PSG job imminently and that has resulted in rumours of a move back to France for the Spurs captain.

Replacing Lloris would be a sizeable task for whoever Spurs were to sign and the report states that they could look to either Johnstone or Manchester United youngster Dean Henderson.

Despite the reaction of these Tottenham supporters, Johnstone has proven his ability this season to play at a higher level.

As per WhoScored, the goalkeeper is averaging just over four saves per 90 minutes in the Premier League.

A report from The Athletic back in November also revealed that he was statistically the best shot-stopper in the division and was preventing the most goals in the Premier League.

Now at the age of 27, Johnstone has reiterated his desire to represent the Three Lions at senior level.

Should he continue his good form this season, the former Manchester United youngster may feel like he could have an outside of chance of breaking into Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad.

These Tottenham fans on social media have been giving their thoughts on the reports and Johnstone did not appear to be a popular suggestion.
