West Brom went into their Premier League clash with Arsenal looking to avenge their shocking defeat against Leeds last time out.
Sam Allardyce decided to make two changes to his side, bringing in both Branislav Ivanovic and Matheus Pereira back into midfield.
It didn’t start great for the Baggies, who were dominated at the Hawthorns and went into the break 2-0 behind thanks to goals from Kieran Tierney and Bukayo Saka.
The inclusion of Romaine Sawyers didn’t go down well with fans.
Sawyers was shocking against Leeds, scoring that own-goal and simply struggling to cope with the pressure and intensity of the game.
With options limited in midfield though, it appeared that Allardyce didn’t have much of a choice if he wanted to keep experienced players in the side.
There were options such as Sam Field and Rekeem Harper to choose, but it appears that chances will be limited for these younger players.
Looking at performances like this one, it won’t be long until he is dropped, but with Jake Livermore coming back from suspension soon, he will surely be replaced.
Many West Brom fans have reacted to the first-half display of Sawyers against the Gunners, and they were not happy.
The majority have claimed that he is far too much out of his depth in the Premier League, and he must be dropped for upcoming games.
