‘He will do it’ – Exclusive: Super Kev tips three West Brom changes v Arsenal
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips has tipped Sam Allardyce to make up to three changes to his West Brom side for the Premier League clash with Arsenal.
The Baggies welcome the Gunners to the Hawthorns on the back of that 5-0 thrashing against Leeds and will be eager to put that right.
Phillips admits that Big Sam doesn’t have time to mess around, and will need to be drastic with his selections to turn around the fortunes of the club.
Speaking exclusively to West Brom News, Phillips said, “I would have thought so, you can’t lose 5-0 at home and some managers would pick the same side, and say go out and there and put it right.
“I think he hasn’t got time to mess around and do that because of the situation that they’re in the league. Sam will pick a side that he feels can get a result, so if that means changes, he will do it.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if there was one, two, maybe three changes.”
Who could come in?
Matheus Pereira was a surprise omission against Leeds, especially after he came off the bench to assist the equaliser in that 1-1 draw with Liverpool days before.
The Brazilian has been the main man ever since arriving at the club, and Big Sam must find a way to get him playing at his best, and quickly.
With Romaine Sawyers having a shocker against Leeds, it would be no surprise to see him replaced by Pereira, it just all depends on how defensive the Albion want to line up.
