West Brom mainstay confirms injury blow after missing 4-0 defeat v Arsenal
West Brom forward Karlan Grant has confirmed that he has a minor injury after missing the Premier League clash with Arsenal.
The striker has been a mainstay since arriving at the Hawthorns and was a notable absence all together against the Gunners.
It didn’t help the Baggies, who were easily beaten by Arsenal thanks to goals from Kieran Tierney, Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette.
Grant took to his personal Twitter account before the game to address his absence, and it appears that he picked up a problem in the defeat against Leeds.
“Let’s go boys,” he wrote.
“Let’s get these 3 points. Out with hopefully a minor injury.”
It was another shocking display again on Saturday, but we don’t think having Grant available will have made much of a difference.
Callum Robinson played more centrally, and the Irishman was isolated, with his only chance being a ruled out goal for offside.
Having arrived as the Baggies main marquee striker over the summer, big things were expected from the former Huddersfield ace.
The 23-year-old has started 12 Premier League games, only finding the net once in that 1-1 draw against Brighton towards the start of his Albion career.
Grant needs to be better, but so do the rest of the squad, and it is hard to look past anything but relegation right now – injury or not.
