Gary Rowett shares verdict on Kenneth Zohore as WBA loan deal set to expire

West Brom forward Kenneth Zohore is set to return to the Hawthorns midway through January from his loan deal at Millwall.

As it stands, the Championship club have yet to extend the deal until the end of the season although it remains a possibility.

The Danish forward did suffer a long-term injury at the New Den and returned to action off the bench against Coventry in midweek.

Rowett has claimed that he has yet to make a decision on Zohore, and will need to make his decision based on what he does on the pitch.

“Troy’s here for the season and Ken’s loan expires in the middle of January,” he told London News Online.

“He’s not been fit, so it’s difficult to make a judgement call until he has played some games. We’re looking to strengthen, like a lot of clubs will be.”

This is an interesting dilemma facing both sides.

Do Millwall want to extend the deal to try and push for promotion, or do the Baggies feel like they need more options in the final third?

Sam Allardyce likes a big forward, and with Karlan Grant confirming a recent injury, the Dane could be handed a second chance at the Hawthorns.

West Brom have already been linked with the likes of Cenk Tosun, and if he arrives, Zohore will up for a permanent exit, rather than a loan.

The next two weeks will be very important, both for Zohore and the Baggies.
