West Brom unable to spend more than £2m on new signings this Jan – report

West Brom will not be able to afford players who cost in excess of £2million this January, according to The Telegraph

Funds are seriously limited at The Hawthorns with new boss Sam Allardyce looking to bring in his own players in a bid to aid the club’s relegation fight.

With the club reportedly close to bringing West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass to the club for a minimal fee, it will be deals like this that define Albion’s January.

The Telegraph report that a move for a player costing more than £2million is ‘seriously doubtful’ considering the club’s finances.

The publication has also claimed that Allardyce is listening to offers for both Kamil Grosicki and Charlie Austin.

As well as this, the report also states that Benfica loanee Filip Krovinovic will be allowed to return to his parent club with Nottingham Forest interested in his services

This report puts into perspective how little room the Baggies have to manoeuvre in the transfer market.

The only positive we can hope for is that the £2million figure is so small because the club are targeting lots of signings that will all cost small amounts.

There are many players, like Snodgrass, who are out of contract in the summer and could cost minimal fees this month.

It seems as though these are the players that we will be targeting which, while realistic, is still disappointing to hear.

If we are to stay up then we need Premier League experience above all else and luckily, it appears that plenty of players with said experience will be available for small fees this month.

That said, we all know that the club has very little money to spend but hearing that £2million figure is rather uninspiring.

In other West Brom news, one reported Baggies target has a secret weapon that Allardyce must use.
