Some West Brom fans have blasted Semi Ajayi for his poor first-half performance against Blackpool in the FA Cup.
Ajayi started in the centre of midfield at Bloomfield Road in a much-changed team selected by Sam Allardyce.
Ajayi failed to impress in his new role during the opening 45 minutes and he is lucky to still be on the pitch.
Ajayi was booked 15 minutes into the game for a very late challenge on Blackpool’s Kenny Dougall and if VAR had been in operation he may have received his marching orders.
It was a very rash tackle from a player who usually provides a calm head at the back when Albion are under pressure.
This new role in the midfield may have been a step too far from Allardyce as on another day, the Baggies’ poor disciplinary record this season could’ve got even worse.
The Baggies struggled in the first half against the League One outfit and Ajayi’s performance was the personification of the entire team’s poor efforts.
He was slow, off the pace and he looked slightly scared by the whole occasion, which doesn’t bode well for when the club return to league action.
Some Albion fans took to social media to berate Ajayi for his reckless challenge with one labelling him ‘brainless’.
Others criticised his overall performance and claimed that they never wanted to see Ajayi play in midfield again.
Here is how some West Brom fans reacted to Ajayi’s first-half performance against Blackpool.
Stipid challenge that from Ajayi. Brainless.

I’m not picking on him honestly…. but Ajayi now booked for flying in after over running the ball. Really lucky he didn’t connect or else a certain red. Idiotic loss of composure

I’ve seen 15 minutes of this Ajayi in midfield experiment and I never want to see it again.

14 minutes in and I never want to see Ajayi in midfield again

My only negative so far was after all the talk of discipline by Allardyce, Semi Ajayi goes lunging feet up at a Blackpool player and could have got himself sent off for intent and dangerous play. Just moronic. #WBA #BLAWBA #WBAFC

It’s almost as if the players don’t want to play for allardyce. I can’t say I blame them.
Were knowhere near as bad as we’re playing and that’s due to one man
Were finished. Nothing good will happen while Fat Sam’s at the club.
