Five Wolves players ruled out v West Brom, one Albion player could earn debut – BBC Sport

Wolves will be without at least five first-team players when they take on West Brom in the first Black Country derby in almost nine years on Saturday, according to BBC Sport.

The broadcaster claims Raul Jimenez, Jonny Otto, Marcal, Willy Boly and Daniel Podence have been ruled out of the showdown at Molineux while Adama Traore and Owen Otasowie could return after missing the defeat to Everton on Tuesday with minor injuries.

As for West Brom, BBC Sport reports that while Conor Gallagher is suspended, new signing Robert Snodgrass could make his debut for the Baggies.

It’s been a long time since 5-1

West Brom and Wolves have both have varying fortunes since the last time these two great West Midlands rivals met each other in February 2012.

On that day, Peter Odemwingie netted an unforgettable hat-trick as Roy Hodgson led the Albion to a historic 5-1 win at Molineux.

Wolves were beaten so bad they dropped down two divisions but since then, the Baggies have also seen their fortunes take a slide while their bitter rivals have made themselves one of the top Premier League sides thanks to the spending might of Chinese owners Fosun.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be disappointed with how his side’s season has started with the Wolves not exactly meeting expectations in the Premier League.

However, they have been without star striker Raul Jimenez, who we wish all the best in his recovery from a fractured skull.

We’re not ones to take about underperforming sides though really.

Albion have been nothing short of dreadful this season. We saw more fight and quality in the team when Alan Irvine was in charge.

Sam Allardyce, a Wolves fan who was born in Dudley, should know more about this match almost anyone on the books at either clubs.

Let’s hope that even though he is a Dingle, he’s able to lead the Albion to a shock victory this weekend.

In other West Brom news, Albion have offered this key player a new £45,000-a-week contract.
