‘The only real positive…’ – Michael Owen predicts West Brom clash v Wolves
Michael Owen has backed Wolves to beat West Brom in their Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.
Owen has predicted that the Baggies will fall to a 2-0 defeat at Molineux, extending their shocking run of form under Sam Allardyce.
The Albion will be looking to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat against Blackpool, with Wolves only winning once in the league since the start of December.
Writing in his BetVictor predictions column, Owen believes that despite Wolves’ lack of goals, they should have enough against the Baggies.
“The Black Country derby gets the weekend’s Premier League action underway early on Saturday afternoon. West Brom make the short trip to Molineux having been dumped out of the FA Cup last weekend by Blackpool,” he wrote.
“Now a few weeks into the job, Big Sam will no doubt realise the magnitude of the task at hand. The Baggies draw away to Liverpool has been the only real positive since his arrival, and they come up against a talented Wolves side in this one.
“Wolves have sorely missed the services of Raul Jimenez since his terrible injury. Goals have been hard to come by; however, I still think they’ll have enough to get three points here.”
Nothing is going right at The Hawthorns.
Big Sam has come in, but nothing has changed and if there was the perfect time for that to happen, it would be in the Black Country Derby.
West Brom will be without Karlan Grant, and more importantly, the suspended Conor Gallagher. The Chelsea loanee will be a massive miss in this one, and it is time for the likes of Romaine Sawyers to step up – easier said than done.
Seeing clips of Peter Odemwingie sinking the Dingles all those years ago with that treble keeps popping up, and it is time for a new hero to step up and silence the doubters.
