‘Fairytale story’ – Many West Brom fans think 20yo will be involved v Wolves after U23s reveal
Many West Brom supporters believe that youngster Cheikh Diaby could be coming into the senior squad to face Wolves on Saturday.
A number of fans took to Twitter on Friday night as they spotted that the young forward was not involved for the club’s Under-23s against Aston Villa.
The youth side fell to an away defeat on Friday night, with Diaby not involved and the team news certainly got some fans talking.
With the current lack of strikers available to Big Sam and The Hawthorns, it would certainly make sense for the former England boss to bring in the youngster.
An injury to Karlan Grant has limited the options available to the Albion manager, with the club still struggling in front of goal.
No strikers have arrived as of yet during the January window and Diaby could be the ideal stop-gap to fill out the Albion squad.
It could be a special moment for Diaby to be involved in a local derby in the Premier League.
Diaby has scored five goals in eight Premier League 2 appearances this season and his form at youth level is clearly not going unnoticed.
Supporters were quick to react online and West Brom News has picked out some of the best reactions on Twitter.
