West Brom fans are ecstatic to hear that the club is interested in making a move for Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne.
Sky Sports journalist Lyall Moloney broke the story on Friday, suggesting Albion are seeking a loan deal, and that has sparked a reaction amongst the fanbase.
With Sam Allardyce in desperate need of a striker, this is the news that many Baggies’ fans have been waiting for this month.
For good reason, too, as the Senegal international has enjoyed terrific form during his spell in Turkey.
He has 22 goals in 38 games for Galatasary, including a return of 11 in 18 this season, so his confidence should be high.
It is that aspect of the 29-year-old’s game that encourages supporters the most, as it indicates he may be what the team have lacked this term.
West Brom’s highest goalscorers, Callum Robinson and Hal Robson-Kanu, have just three goals to boast of, and therefore more fire power is needed if we are to mount a survival bid.
Diagne is untested at a level like the Premier League but if Big Sam can create chances for him the striker’s finishing ability could see him score goals.
