Two shock starters as Allardyce rings the changes – Confirmed Albion XI v Wolves

West Brom manager has handed a first Albion start to new signing Robert Snodgrass against local rivals Wolves.

But goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is not even in the squad in the first of two shocks for fans.

The two sides meet at the Custard Bowl on Saturday afternoon in what has to be considered as a must-win for the Albion.

As confirmed by the club’s official Twitter account, Albion have made a number of changes to the starting XI against Arsenal last time out in the Premier League.

Kieran Gibbs comes into the team as a more natural left-sided defender, with Dara O’Shea appearing to start at right-back.

Snodgrass comes straight into the team after joining from West Ham in place of Grady Diagana, while Jake Livermore returns to Premier League action to replace the suspended Conor Gallagher.

The Chelsea loanee picked up his fifth yellow card of the season against Arsenal and will now have to sit this one out.

Livermore has not featured in the Premier League since his red card against Aston Villa but did feature during the FA Cup defeat to Blackpool.

Kamil Grosicki and a starting spot for David Button are perhaps the two biggest shocks as Allardyce tries to mix things up against Wolves.

A win against the Dingles would certainly lift spirits at The Hawthorns and three points on Saturday would no doubt go a long way for Big Sam.

If Albion can secure three points against Wolves and Brighton lose against Leeds later on today, the club would find themselves within three points of Graham Potter’s side, with a game in hand.
