‘Top draw’ – Trevor Sinclair sends message to West Brom ace following Wolves win

Former West Ham striker Trevor Sinclair has lauded Robert Snodgrass after he made his West Brom debut in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Wolves.

The Black Country Derby victory was the first chance for Albion fans to see Snodgrass in action following his move to The Hawthorns from West Ham.

Former Iron Sinclair took to social media after the game to praise Snodgrass after being impressed by the 33-year-old’s energy.

In reply to a tweet about the game from Snodgrass, Sinclair said, “Top draw today Robert.

“Great link up with Pereira and you brought an energy and confidence to the team, Ajayi and Bartley also superb.”

Snodgrass was a popular figure at Sinclair’s former club West Ham and this praise is well deserved with the Scotsman experiencing one of the more successful Albion debuts of recent years.

West Brom

It was clear from the early stages of the game that Snodgrass would give Sam Allardyce’s men a new attacking outlet as he helped bring players like Callum Robinson and Matheus Pereira into the game.

His running in the channels and crosses were exactly the type of things that have been missing from Albion’s game this term.

While there is a long way to go this season there were plenty of positive signs at Molineux and Snodgrass’ effort should keep some of the Baggies faithful who questioned his signing quiet for the foreseeable future.

The challenge for Snodgrass now is maintaining this excellent level of performance.

If we are to escape the relegation zone, we need Snodgrass and every other member of the squad to perform just as they did in the derby on a regular basis.

Performances like Saturday’s have been thin on the ground this season and it is exactly the type of win that we expected when Big Sam took the hot seat.

May Snodgrass’ fantastic start to life at The Hawthorns continue.

In other West Brom news, a reliable journalist claims a £1m summer signing will leave this month if Big Sam finds a replacement.
