West Brom fans are furious with Conor Gallagher after the on-loan Chelsea midfielder dived in an attempt to win a penalty against West Ham on Tuesday night.

Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio scored either side of a superb strike by Matheus Pereira to secure a 2-1 win for the Hammers at the London Stadium.

Albion have shown a major improvement in their performances in the last two matches but on Tuesday, it wasn’t to be with David Moyes’ men just about edging the victory with two good goals.

However, there was a moment of controversy late on when Gallagher went down in the penalty area.

Graham Scott showed no hesitation towards dishing out a yellow card to the 20-year-old after he feigned contact from Andriy Yarmolenko inside the Hammers’ box.

It was late in stoppage time and Scott blew up for full-time not long after so it was a desperate, last-ditch attempt from Gallagher.

However, it has no place in our game.

We ripped Fabio Silva to shreds for doing that when we beat Wolves on Saturday so why shouldn’t Gallagher get the same treatment?

He’s done so well at Albion this season so he really cannot do anything like that. Plus, with VAR, what’s the point? It’s never going to work.

Some Albion fans were rightly furious with the midfielder’s simulation, with one saying he “has to be dropped” for the next match.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

In other West Brom news, Albion want to sign this Benfica centre-forward.
