PL club join hunt for forward currently in discussions with West Brom – report

Burnley have made contact with Ahmed Musa’s representatives despite the forward being in discussions with West Brom, according to SportsRation

Albion have reignited interest in the free-agent according to All Nigeria Soccer as Sam Allardyce looks to bolster his attacking options.

However, it now seems that the Baggies aren’t the only Premier League club interested in Musa as Burnley have reportedly reached out to the Nigerian’s representatives.

SportsRation claim that CSKA Moscow and some Turkish sides also hold an interest in Musa and they stress that negotiations between Albion and Musa’s people are only at an early stage.

The report also claims that Musa’s preference is to return to the Premier League following his fruitless spell at Leicester City.

This would put Albion, and indeed Burnely, in pole position to sign the forward if there is genuine interest from either club.

West Brom

Burnley’s interest has thrown a spanner into the works if West Brom are indeed looking at signing Musa.

It is unfortunate to say but Burnley look more likely to stay up than us at the minute which could convince the former Leicester man to move to Turf Moor.

This is a deal that would be ideal for Allardyce to complete as wages may be the only sticking point.

With funds low, bringing in a forward who is currently a free agent would be a fantastic bit of business although Musa’s Premier League record leaves a lot to be desired.

The Nigerian scored two goals in 21 league outings for Leicester which doesn’t suggest that he is capable of scoring the goals to keep us up.

As has been stated before, attracting quality players during this transfer window is always going to be hard so to bring in a decent forward with at least some Premier League experience would be a boost.

With Burnley now involved it seems as though Musa has a decision to make.

For our sake, let’s hope he chooses to move to The Hawthorns in what would be another boost following recent results.
