‘Got a reaction’ – Michael Owen predicts result of West Brom clash v Manchester City

Michael Owen has backed Manchester City to beat West Brom on Tuesday evening in their Premier League clash.

The pundit claimed that Sam Allardyce has got a reaction from his side in recent weeks, but admitted that shouldn’t make a difference at The Hawthorns, predicting City will win 2-0.

West Brom have improved in recent weeks, beating Wolves 3-2 and then were unlucky to leave West Ham with nothing in midweek.

West Brom

Writing in his Bet Victor predictions column, Owen claimed that City will have too much and eventually break the Baggies down.

“Big Sam has got a reaction from his players in recent weeks; however, they welcome a Manchester City side that are swiping aside anyone that comes before them just now,” he wrote.

“Yes, they were slightly under par against Cheltenham in the FA Cup, but they can be very awkward fixtures to play in.

“I don’t think West Brom are set up to offer much on the counter-attack, so I can see this being a case of City breaking them down. With the quality on offer, I think that’s just what the visitors will do as they continue to push for top spot.”

Double boost.

It is hard to find major positives with a game against Manchester City coming up.

Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero will both be missing at The Hawthorns, and that is two fewer problems facing the Baggies against the Premier League’s best.

Big Sam will also be watching Slaven Bilic’s last game in charge at the Etihad, where the Albion battled to a 1-1 draw without City causing too many problems.

Despite two Sam Johnstone saves towards the end, Pep Guardiola’s men hardly created anything, and that must be the game plan going into this one – survive as long as possible.
