West Brom handed double fitness boost ahead of Man City, Diangana update confirmed
West Brom have been handed a double fitness boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester City on Tuesday.
Matt Phillips and Karlan Grant are set to return at The Hawthorns after both have missed weeks through injuries over the busiest period of the season.
Grady Diangana won’t be available for the game, but Sam Allardyce confirmed that he should return to training this week after his hamstring blow.
Allardyce confirmed that Sam Field is back to 100%, with his press conference news being relayed by Steve Madeley on his personal Twitter account.
“Some positive injury news from Allardyce this morning,” he wrote.
“Matt Phillips, Karlan Grant and Sam Field all available for tomorrow & Grady Diangana due back in training at the end of this week.”
Field has been on the bench against Wolves and West Ham, but this just confirms that he is fully back to make an impact on the pitch.
Allardyce won’t want to rush Diangana back either, with the winger suffering from that hamstring problem that could easily resurface if rushed.
The return of Grant will be positive news.
Allardyce has struggled to bring in any new strikers, despite him making it clear and obvious that is what he wants this month.
Callum Robinson has led the line to great effect recently but has had no real competition on the bench to come on and challenge him.
Grant needs to start proving his worth, and quickly, and what better time to that then against City on Tuesday evening.
