‘Embarrassing’, ‘Back to the 80s’ – Many West Brom fans fuming after ‘pathetic’ transfer update

Big Sam has said that he’s getting ever-more anxious in the January window, with time quickly running out to strengthen West Brom.

And the latest update of the number of players he wants to bring has seen the figure drop to two.

Fans know exactly how he’s feeling and there’s building sympathy from supporters to his plight.

Getting quality players through the door in January is always a tough ask. Doing it with no money and at a team at the wrong end of the table makes it even harder.

Joseph Masi from the Express & Star delivered the bad news on Monday night and many Albion fans are now fearing the worst – not just for West Brom but for the future of Allardyce as well.

Allardyce has a good history of getting clubs out of trouble. That’s what he does and what he’s been brought in to do at The Hawthorns.

However, he’s not a miracle worker and fans think he’s been hamstrung by the club and possibly fed false promises.

Not all fans feel that way, though. One said, “I don’t want to hear anxious, the man’s paid enough to choose better words, even if he’s struggling for players. Ffs.”

He’s got a point. Fans don’t want to hear public declarations of anxiety at a time when they’re struggling to see any bright side.

However, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes and what Big Sam was promised when he came in.

His reputation is on the line as well as the future of our club.

Here are the best of the rest of the reactions to Allardyce’s anxiety…
