Personal terms agreed: West Brom on verge of completing striker transfer – Journalist

West Brom have agreed personal terms with Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne, according to Nicolo Schira.

The journalist has reported on his personal Twitter account that the Senegalese international is closing in on a move to The Hawthorns.

Schira reported that the deal was concluded by Italian agent Claudio Mossio as Sam Allardyce prepares to welcome his first striker through the door.

This one has really gathered pace on Wednesday.

Express and Star journalist Joseph Masi first reported that the Baggies had agreed a deal with the Turkish club to sign Diagne on a loan deal.

That was followed by Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett sharing that the deal includes an obligation to buy this season, with arrangements now being made to fly Diagne to the midlands to complete his medical.

With Ahmed Musa also training with the Albion, Big Sam could be set to announce the first of two forwards signing this week before the deadline.

Diagne is in great form.

The 29-year-old has scored nine goals in his 15 Super Lig appearances this season in Turkey, with five of those outings coming from the bench too.

Before a loan move to Club Brugge, Diagne also managed to score 20 goals in 17 appearances for Kasimpasa, proving he has been in scintillating form for many years now.

That can be taken either way.

Is this too good to be true? Either the Baggies are being handed a talisman on the cheap, or there are some problems behind-the-scenes, we hope it is the first option.
