Journalist shares financial details as West Brom look to complete double swoop
Express reporter Ryan Taylor has detailed the finances involved in the deals that will see Mbaye Diagne and Okay Yokuslu join West Brom.
Taylor reports that Diagne’s medical took place in Turkey on Thursday while also reporting that Albion’s bid for Yokuslu was also accepted on the same day.
It looks like Sam Allardyce is close to bringing in two new players ahead of next week’s transfer deadline and Taylor has explained how much the Baggies will be paying for each player.
Taylor claimed a few days ago that Albion had lodged a loan bid for Yokuslu which included the obligation to pay £4.4million for his permanent services if the club avoids relegation.
Today, Taylor claimed that this is the bid that has been accepted which means that those terms will be part of the deal should Big Sam keep the club in the Premier League.
As well as this, Taylor reports that Albion will be paying Galatasaray a loan fee of £1.4million for Diagne’s services and his deal will also be made permanent if survival is secured.
There is no fee reported for Diagne’s potential move but whatever it is, it will be worth it if he scores the goals that keep Albion in the Premier League.
The same goes for Yokuslu as £4.4million isn’t a lot of money to pay for a man who may play a role in our survival this season.
This is all ifs, buts and maybes at this point but the financial aspects of both transfers make sense.
If the players turn out to be a success then there is a fee already agreed and keeping the players at The Hawthorns should be simple.
If they don’t impress then it’s more unsuccessful loans but we won’t be stuck with players who couldn’t cut it in the top flight.
For once, it looks like the club may have been responsible financially with these deals, which makes a nice change.
