Diagne is a player who should be high on confidence and will be aiming to excel now he finally has his Premier League chance.
Hopefully, that means he is enthusiastic and able to lift the squad, just like the impact Robert Snodgrass made on his debut, the win at Wolves.
We trust Big Sam has got this right as he has a good record with strikers, such as Christian Benteke, who has also been targeted.
The pair share height and strength, while one Galatasaray fan above also characterises Diagne as a ‘budget Balotelli’, which is an intriguing thought.
We hope this deal can be completed prior to Saturday’s match against Fulham. It’s an absolutely crucial game.
