West Brom target rejects Albion loan offer – report
Jesse Lingard has rejected a loan offer from West Brom and he will instead move to West Ham United, according to Sky Sports.
The Manchester United midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to The Hawthorns this week following the decision to allow the 28-year-old to leave Old Trafford on loan.
However, it looks as if Lingard will be moving to the capital rather than the midlands after turning down the offer to join Sam Allardyce’s relegation fight.
Sky Sports claim that Lingard rejected loan offers from both West Brom and Newcastle in favour of a switch to David Moyes’ Irons.
The outlet also report that the total cost of taking Lingard on loan could rise to as much as £3million so perhaps it is not the end of the world that we missed out on him considering our current financial predicament.
With Lingard now off the table, it means the club can look elsewhere as they look to fill the one remaining domestic loan spot before next weekend’s transfer deadline.
Just what may happen before the February 1 transfer deadline remains to be seen but there may still be some arrivals at Albion.
Mbaye Diagne looks certain to join with Sky Sports reporting that the forward has passed a medical.
TalkSPORT also reported on Thursday afternoon that the club had agreed a deal to take Celta Vigo midfielder Okay Yokuslu on loan with the obligation to buy if Albion avoid the drop.
These are two welcome additions after the poor display we were subjected to through the week as Man City tore apart a team that is desperate for reinforcements.
There should be plenty of options for Big Sam if he wants to exploit the domestic loan market before the deadline.
With the window nearly over there is the potential for things to get frantic but one thing is for sure, Lingard will not be signing for West Brom.
In other West Brom news, these Albion fans have one message for Big Sam ahead of the Fulham game.
