‘Improvement has been evident’ – Lawrenson predicts winner in huge West Brom 6-pointer v Fulham
West Brom have two huge games coming up and six points would be a major boost for Big Sam as he looks to save us from relegation.
it’s Fulham up first at The Hawthorns but BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson believes that it’s going to end with an away win.
“West Brom have had four home league games since Sam Allardyce took charge in mid-December and have lost them all – conceding 17 goals in the process, without scoring any,” Lawrenson said.
“On that sort of form, it is hard to see them getting anything at The Hawthorns this time either, even against one of their relegation rivals.
“Fulham have not won since the end of November but their improvement has been evident – this could be the win they have been waiting for.”
Lawrenson is predicting a 2-1 win to Fulham.
Thanks for nothing Lawro
True, our home form has been poor in the last few games but losing to Man City isn’t exactly a surprise. Arsenal have been looking much stronger in the last few weeks and Leeds can score against anyone.
We believe the West Brom players will be bang up for the game against Fulham – they have to be.
Two defeats, against Fulham and Sheffield United, would almost certainly mean we would be relegated straight back to the Championship.
We were hoping that West Brom would sign a striker in time for him to go straight into this game but that’s looking unlikely now. There’s still time, but it’s looking like we’re going to have to rely on our existing players and it means Matheus Pereira will need to show the sort of magic he pulled out in the win against Wolves.
Let’s not forget that Fulham haven’t won in nine in the Premier League and got hammered 3-0 by Burnley in the FA Cup.
It’s a home win all the way for us.
