Sky Sports: This is what is holding up Diagne-West Brom transfer after medical completed
Mbaye Diagne is waiting to receive a work permit ahead of his loan move to West Brom from Turkish giants Galatasaray, according to Sky Sports.
The 29-year-old completed a medical in Turkey on Thursday after a loan with an option to buy was agreed between the two clubs.
With West Brom short on forward options they will hope to push through a move before the end of Friday in order for Diagne to feature against Fulham in a vital clash at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
Sky Sports report that Diagne is just holding on for the approval of a work permit before he jets into England to sign on the dotted line for the Baggies.
The Senegal international has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances for Galatasaray this season and will be expected to provide the goals to fire Albion to Premier League safety.
Callum Robinson has been leading the line for West Brom lately but has not scored since a double against Chelsea on September 26.
Time is of the essence
Big Sam will be desperate for the Diagne deal to be pushed through before they host Fulham in a relegation ‘six-pointer’ on Saturday.
Albion are currently two points behind Scott Parker’s side so a win will lift them above their visitors and see them move within four points of Brighton who hold the final Premier League survival spot.
In Allardyce’s first seven league games in charge Albion have registered four blanks as they count the cost of not having a prolific goal scorer in their side.
Matheus Pereira is the top scorer with four Premier League goals but two of these were from the penalty spot in the 3-2 Molineux victory over Wolves earlier this month and summer striker signing Karlan Grant has just one goal to his name.
Diagne has scored goals wherever he has been so he will be confident of translating this form into England if the likes of Pereira and Robert Snodgrass can create quality chances for him.
