‘Insane’ – These West Brom fans react to debut of Mbaye Diagne in 2-2 draw v Fulham
West Brom battled their way to another well-earned Premier League point in the 2-2 draw against Fulham on Saturday afternoon.
It was a shocking first-half, with the away side ahead through Bobby Decordova-Reid, and it should have been more.
The Baggies rallied in the second period, and Kyle Bartley and Matheus Pereira got their side ahead in this crucial relegation battle before Ivan Cavaleiro’s equaliser.
Mbaye Diagne only arrived at the club yesterday, but he was thrown into the action immediately at half-time.
The Senegal international made the perfect impression, and was a constant handful for Fulham, although he certainly looked tired.
Pereira’s goal highlighted just what Diagne can do.
With the ball outwide, the striker got his head up and played the perfect ball along the box for the Brazilian to poke home his fourth in as many games.
Callum Robinson was a dejected figure in the final third during the first half, and there could have been question marks over the straight swap.
Diagne proved that wrong, completing 100% of his passes according to WhoScored and providing an outlet for the likes of Pereira when charging forward.
Many West Brom fans have reacted to the debut of Diagne, and it appears as though they were all delighted by the early signs.
Despite no training with his new teammates, the Senegalese forward made the perfect impression to his new fanbase on Saturday.
