Jenas and Wright issue damning West Brom relegation verdict
Jermaine Jenas and Ian Wright both believe that West Brom will be unable to avoid the drop this season following Saturday’s draw with Fulham.
After a terrible first half, Albion managed to recover and take the lead against the Cottagers but a late goal from the visitors meant the points were shared.
Speaking on Match of the Day, the pundits gave a very simple answer when they were asked if Sam Allardyce’s side could avoid an instant return to the Championship.
Gary Lineker asked both Wright and Jenas which side was more likely to stay up out of West Brom and Fulham.
Both pundits replied “Fulham”.
The host then asked the pundits if either side could potentially stay up to which both replied, “no”.
A draw did neither side much good and the result has clearly led to some believing that Albion’s chances of staying up are all but over.
We have a crucial game against Sheffield United this week that looks to be even more important following the draw on Saturday.
Fulham only sit two points ahead of us but they have a game in hand, frustratingly matters are still not in our own hands.
All we can do is keep trying to win games but that is looking unlikely following terrible defensive performances against Manchester City and in the first half against Fulham.
Brighton, the team currently above Fulham, also have a game in hand on us which makes things pretty bleak for both us and Fulham.
Once again we are hoping for other teams to lose but a win against the Blades would certainly shift the mood around The Hawthorns.
After all, we’ve already beaten them once this season.
In other West Brom news, these Albion fans think this player should be given the captain’s armband.
