Mbaye Diagne shares Instagram messages after West Brom debut v Fulham
West Brom striker Mbaye Diagne was thrown into the deep end on Saturday afternoon but made an instant impact in the Premier League.
Despite only signing on Friday evening, the Senegalese international was named on the bench and came on at half-time with the Baggies being dominated by Fulham.
Diagne made the perfect impact, causing constant problems and assisting Matheus Pereira in the 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns.
The menacing striker has taken to his personal Instagram account after the game, posting not one, but two images after his debut.
“Happy to contribute on my debut,” he said. “Could have won but a point is a point. We move.”
The second post was to celebrate his first touch in the Premier League, and it wasn’t a bad one either, with the ball perfectly-being brought down.
Fulham and their defence had it far too easy in the opening 45 minutes, but they were forced backwards and found it hard to cope with Diagne.
Diagne was certainly a handful.
In only 45 minutes, the 29-year-old won two aerial battles, delivered that assist and also two key passes according to WhoScored.
Compare that to Callum Robinson, the Irishman’s only contribution was winning one foul for his side as he looked awfully isolated in Sam Allardyce’s system.
We have to remember that Diagne has only been at the club for two days, we can only imagine how good he will look with a week of training behind him moving forward.
