‘Should be captain’, ‘Give him the armband’ – Some West Brom fans laud ‘class’ ace v Fulham

Some West Brom fans want to see Robert Snodgrass given the captain’s armband after Saturday’s draw against Fulham.

After going behind early doors, goals from Kyle Bartley and Matheus Pereira put Albion in a 2-1 lead before a late defensive lapse in concentration allowed the visitors to equalise.

The point does neither side any favours but there were plenty of positives to take from the game despite the frustrating result.

Snodgrass’ performance was one of them as the decision to get him through the door first this month looks to have been a good one by Sam Allardyce.

Snoddy was used in a more central role in the second half while Conor Gallagher was pushed out to the right-hand side.

The 33-year-old more than held his own in the midfield and with several central players failing to impress this season, Snodgrass may have found his new favoured position.

It wasn’t just his performance that impressed Albion fans as his constant shouting and instructions to his teammates kept the players on their toes.

This is surely another reason why he was brought to the club as his experience will be valuable in this relegation fight.

Many fans took to social media to reply to Snodgrass’ post-match message.

Some suggested that he should be named Albion captain while others simply expressed how impressed they had been with the former West Ham man since he arrived at The Hawthorns.

Here is how some West Brom fans reacted to Snodgrass’ tweet.
