Medical completed: West Brom on verge of major deal, paperwork set to be signed – Ornstein

Arsenal wing-back Ainsley Maitland-Niles has completed his medical ahead of his loan switch to West Brom on Monday.

The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has reported on his personal Twitter account that the England international will now return to London to sign the final paperwork.

It is suggested that it is too late for Maitland-Niles to make his debut against Sheffield United, and he will need to wait until the Spurs clash.

West Brom

Maitland-Niles had the option to join either Leicester or Southampton during this window, but either the Gunners or himself turned that down.

This is a major coup for the Baggies, who have a player looking to prove themselves ahead of the European Championships this summer.

The defender has featured 11 times in the Premier League already this season and clearly has the quality to compete at Arsenal, but the chance to play every week appears to have been too good to turn down.

West Brom

Two down.

Maitland-Niles has followed Okay Yokuslu through the door at The Hawthorns on Monday, with both arriving too late to play tomorrow.

Allardyce could be set to name a much-changed side for the trip to Tottenham, with Ahmed Musa potentially arriving too.

It has been reported that the Nigerian international has agreed personal terms with the Baggies, and could make it a triple swoop this week.

We have never been so excited for a trip to a big-six club, bring it on.
